Self Employed Professionals: Are you feeling caught and losing sight of your hopes and dreams?

What would it be like to feel fully supported by your work?       To have Ease?

Professionals often find themselves in business by default. It usually goes something like this: you set out to help people by providing an expertise and/or service. Almost overnight, you found yourself with a business to run. You found yourself with marketing to do. And (maybe worst of all) you realized you had to sell yourself. Building a business seems like a daunting task, and that probably wasn’t what you wanted when you set out.

Becoming a recognized expert is not only about marketing

You need to know that your dream is most definitely possible. It is possible to consistently attract the optimum flow of clients. It is possible to set up systems that give you consistent results and also allow you the time to have a life – to find a balance between making money, making a contribution, and having a personal life. It is possible to step into the identity of an accomplished business person AND an expert in your field.

Becoming a recognized expert and monetizing your expertise is both about doing the external, tactical work and it is also about doing the internal, deeply reflective work to know and celebrate your uniqueness. Too often we meet people who are absolutely amazing at what they do, but no-one knows about them because they either don’t know what to do to build their business or know, but are simply not doing it.  Either way, there is most likely an underlying mindset issue at stake; most business development issues are actually masked personal issues.

It’s about recognizing your own expertise, your own worth, your own uniqueness.  It’s about alignment.

If you are frustrated and overwhelmed by building a business please remember this is not uncommon. The only thing that’s uncommon is you, not the problem.  There’s no shortage of information on how to network and market yourself or how to staff your business or…, but how do you know the best way to apply that information, the most effective ways to tailor techniques to your unique business, and how do you get the confidence to sell yourself? Many business owners would like to get it all done, would like to step into a bigger professional identity … BUT HOW?

Market positioning: the first step.

The first step is to get clear about your market position and your business vision. Everything in marketing and building a business follows from knowing your position; the clearer and more simplified your statement is, the easier it is to make good decisions.   This is usually an iterative process whereby you deliver and refine your service offering at the same time as you learn to speak and write about it.

Support is a major contributing factor to success. It is crucial during this stage to get feedback from other people.  You will not move into the next stage of creating a “real” business (one that runs without you) if you are not willing to reach out beyond your current world.

To grow your business you must be willing to work both on the inner game (getting focused, prioritizing, exploring and shifting any limiting mindsets when you get stuck, frustrated or terrified) as well as the outer game of action and technical know-how (knowing what to do and doing it).

“Know how” is important but will you do it?  Will you follow through? Your mindset is just as important as any marketing strategies. Ideally, your business reflects the best parts of you and your dreams, rather than the worst part of some old pattern. If you are encountering a limitation or crisis of confidence on your path forward, we can help you shift it to something in alignment with who you are becoming. In professional service marketing, effective business development strategies reflect the internal and external landscape.

It’s all “ecology”. No part of you is separate from the whole.  Quantum Growth programs consider, work with, and appreciate every part of your uniqueness.  If something is not working we know that there is a very good reason for that and we will work with all parts of you to “re-solve” the real issue.

All our business coaching groups can include a one-on-one component to work with your unique situation in-depth, and our business coaching products all include guided self assessment, NLP (neurolinguistic programming) change patterns, and visualizations. If you just need a business coach to talk through your plans, you can have a team behind you that not only keeps pace with you, but brings in creative business development ideas and important contacts and resources.
